How many minutes/hours do you spend per day/week exercising. Do you believe in 'no pain, no gain'? Is more better?
A new fast and furious workout that takes just four minutes a day may become the next fitness craze.
A fitness chain is offering clients the benefits of aerobic excercise in merely minutes by using high intensity workouts on specialized machines.
Take a read and say if it is for you.

I most definitely do; it depends on my schedule, but try to get out often & do lots of walking. Living on the edge of town makes this no hardship as the forests, mountains & river are all within walking distance (no pun intended). When unable to get out, I try to walk up & down the 5 floors of stairs often, as we live on the 5th floor of a block of flats (apartment building) but of course do have a lift. I have to be very strong as I have chronic pain, BUT hasten to say that I have learnt so much through my illnessess & am thankful to them. _________________ EACH TO HIS OWN, WITHOUT JUDGMENT! |

I have to admit I don't and I keep gaining weight. I do walk at least twice a day, probably not far enough. I'm going out to a conservation area tomorrow where I can take the dog, that should be a good walk for both of us,. _________________ see our backup forum here and register

I use to jog 3.5 km per day until I felt I was getting to old, and didn't want a heart attack. Now every morning rain, snow, hail, windy, cold or hot, I walk 5 km, and I watch what I eat carefully without being dogmatic about it. Some days I will go twice for a distance of 10km. I do 5 km in about 50 to 60 minutes depending upon the weather and the ground surface. It is free and I don't have to go to a gym or use some dammed machine, which is boring as hell. I don't miss a day, and indeed look forward to the effort.
In the summer I work a bit in my large garden and periodically work up a sweat, but not as often as I would like. I , however consider a mild sweat to be beneficial. _________________ Durgan

I totally agree on the weight problem, and as you get older
it's much harder to keep it off. As for the excercising it's great for
people to say they jog for miles a day etc but when you have bad
knees and arthritic pain it's very hard to keep motivated to get out
there and even walk, but you should do it!! You do feel better for it! |
