What do I do with a virus (like J/SPsyme)? Do I leave it in the vault or empty the vault? So far I have been emptying the vault but the same virus keeps coming back. Please Help Thank You

Hi: I couldn't find anything on that one.

I would leave in the fault for a few days to make sure the computer is working okay, then delete them.
Try running your anti-virus program in safe mode then erase your temp. internet files before restarting your computer.

Here's some more info.

Some viruses can "keep coming back" because:

1. they have installed in a way that allows them to be recreated on boot up.

2. they have been saved in system restore and are restored when a restore point has been accessed.

3. anti virus software can put a virus in a vault but cannot remove it from the system restore database or may not be able to kill the process that regenerates it.

Some additional steps to take:

You can remove the system restore problem by turning system restore off. When you do this you will lose all of your system restore points as well as the virus if it is there.
Use additional resources to scan for viri here are a couple
